Hi Bombshell, Abigail here … let me just start by saying Chicago in the winter is no joke! Living in Saint Louis has helped me adjust to the cold (I’m from Georgia), but Chicago is a whole other kind of cold. I do not claim to be Elsa and the cold does bother me. But, it didn’t stop me from calling my longtime friend from college for a girl’s night. Yes, I drove 5 hours to Chicago for a girl’s night at the Blackhawks game, it was the best decision I’ve made in a while.
I am an equal lover of sports and fashion and believe that they go hand in hand. The players are known for their pre-game style and I believe the fans (specifically women but I’m all for men getting more into fashion) should be as well. If I had it my way, the only people wearing sports jerseys would be the players being paid to do so.
With that being said, here’s what I wore to the game. I went with Islanders colors, just because I could.
I had the idea of an oversized sweater that hung to my upper thigh with a pleated mini skirt peeking out and then a statement bag. I ordered the sweater, skirt, and bag from Amazon. I had the tights, belt, and boots already in my closet. I loved everything about this outfit except for the fact that the mini skirt I thought I bought was a mini skort. If I could go back and have more time, I would have kept searching for a mini skirt.
Overall it was a fun trip with a friend I haven’t seen in years, which was the most important part. If you want to watch the vlog from this trip, it is linked here. I hope this inspired you to call a friend(s), put on a great outfit, make a reservation at a restaurant you’ve been dying to try, grab last-minute tickets to the game, and have the best night.
Here’s to you Bombshell, I’ll see you at the game.
